What is an Adventure Tour?

An adventure tour is not your typical vacation. As indicated by the name, an adventure tour includes an element of excitement and exploration. For most travellers, the adventure lies in the destinations, the activities, and the tour group that you go with. A properly planned adventure tour can be a once in a lifetime experience. Taking adventure tours is part of a growing trend for those who want to get more out of their vacations than simply sitting on the beach. Many individuals in today’s world engage in regular exercise and other “extreme sports”, and are also interested in the culture and landscape of a foreign country. For these vacationers, a basic trip to a tropical island will just not do. If you mountain bike, mountain climb, or white water raft in your free time, why not incorporate that activity into your vacation? All of these exciting elements are combined in an adventure tour.
Choose Your Own Adventure
The extreme differences and varieties of landscape and climate of the four corners of the Earth come to life on an adventure vacation. At the heart of the adventure tour is the location or locations visited on the trip. Different people see different activities as adventures, so there are many options on an adventure tour depending on the traveler’s interests. Other vacationers can handle only a certain amount of activity, so that has to be taken into account as well.
In most cases, an adventure tour includes physical exertion of some kind. This type of adventure tour can include hiking, bicycling, kayaking, canoeing, and any other physical activity that you can think of, even ice climbing. Of course, all of these activities are enriched by the locale. White water rafting in the same old rivers in your home state can become ordinary. What better way to revitalize your interest in this extreme sport by travelling to New Zealand and trying you skills down a brand-new set of waterways.
Other adventurous souls who may desire a bit less physical exertion can still travel to exotic locations and experience the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and everything else that their chosen destination or destinations has to offer. They can still enjoy the complete experience of taking in all that a city or country has to offer. This type of adventure tour usually involves cultural traditions, such as taking part in an ancient ceremony in Mexico.
See and Do More
A good part of the adventure tour is spent travelling so that more ground can be covered. So many sights and highlights can be caught and experienced along the way that a simple trip can seem to encompass what may have taken multiple vacations to cover.
The advanced planning that an adventure tour includes allows for much more to be fit into each day than would be covered by a more relaxed and pampered. As you keep moving from stop to stop, you can see more of the state or country that you are visiting.
On an adventure tour, you may even be able to move from country to country, such as in Southeast Asia or Africa, to sample all of the radically different cultures that share borders. Any nomadic, adventurous spirit would feel right at home traversing a multitude of nations on one adventure tour. Upon their return, travelers often report feeling that they feel as if they have experienced several vacations instead of just one. A traditional vacation may scratch the surface of a destination, but an adventure our thrusts you into the heart and soul of a foreign land.
Strangers and Friends
An unforeseen benefit of an adventure tour is that you experience these exotic locals with a group of other people. They can come from different areas, from different backgrounds, and, consequently, from radically different lives. You are all brought together to experience something special on an adventure tour.
As you share experience after experience you bond within your own little group. You get the chance to share new experiences with people from different backgrounds, seeing how they react to the world you are discovering together. It has been said that you cannot understand this aspect of an adventure tour experience until you have lived through it. A great group of people travelling the world together can take an already amazing experience to new heights.
Adventure tours are an experience unlike any other. They take the time that you would spend on a traditional vacation and offer you an unparalleled chance for excitement and adventure. The great diversity and variety of an adventure tour ensures that there really is something for everyone. On an adventure tour, no two experiences are exactly alike. The chance to take such a tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity but requires you to answer yes to a very simple question. Would you like to have an adventure?
Watch the video related to southeast asia tours
Our last day in London (May 12, 2008) had arrived. We got up at the crack of dawn for early morning adventure: a sunrise kayaking experience on Regents Canal. At 5:45 we met Danny Gillard from ThamesRiverAdventures who recently started a kayaking outfit that provides guided kayak tours in different parts of London. Danny, who is an occupational health and safety specialist by profession, also plans to offer kayak tours in Australia and New Zealand in the winter. Kayaking on this historic …
Help answer the question about southeast asia tours
tour company in southeast asia?I am thinking of taking a short-ish trip to southeast asia (perhaps nepal or burma) with some friends. I have traveled extensively, but never with a tour company. I have always been hesitant to travel with an organized tour, as they have generally seemed to be so focused on the big sights, and so uninterested in cultural immersion. On the other hand, my friends and I have only limited experience in southeast asia, and we thought this might be a nice introduction to some of the areas off the beaten track. Does anyone have any good tour groups to recommend?
In particular, we would like to company that is focused on young people (we are all in our early to mid 20s), and also adventuresome, small-ish, no luxury required…and no hyper-scheduled so we can also go off a bit alone sometimes.
Thanks for your help! Any recommendations are much appreciated. Also, any ideas on spots to visit off the beaten track (we are already familiar with the major tourist points in India and china)?

"These Adventures will take you behind the scenes at the Zoo where you will see areas of the Zoo most people never get a chance to experience as well as encounter the Zoo’s animals in a new way. Your Adventure will begin in the Zoo’s Education Center just to the right of the Zoo gates where you will meet the Adventure Guides, receive your Adventure map and information, synchronize your watches and begin your Adventure.
During your visit of the Zoo your Adventure map will direct you to times and locations to meet your Adventure Guides for a special behind the scenes experience. Throughout the day you will be directed to three different experiences. Each tour experience will give you an opportunity to view the Zoo from a different vantage point and encounter animals in a new way."

Would’ve been really spooky if his little finger moved to hit the last note at the end.
You’re a fantastic artist!

Fly to Lima, Peru with a group then connect to Cusco. Hike the Inca Trail to Machupicchu and climb Huayna Picchu. Visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There are many young tourists there from the US, Europe and Australia all the time. Then go to the Amazon Jungle in Puerto Maldanado. Peru has some of the greatest historical sites in the world.
Good luck!!!

If you are 18 to 26, EF College Break is the cheapest I've found, If you are younger than that, Education First does tours though they are not as cheap. I know there is also people to people, for high school age, and student ambassador, which my friend did, but his trip cost like 8 or 10 thousand dollars for a month, ouch. And I saw an ad for adventure teen travel or something like that last week, but I don't know how legit that is. I can vouch for EF college br. and Education first, since Ive traveled with both before, and my friend did the student ambassador thing which he liked, though it seems kinda expensive to me. If you want to do the EF College break one, I have their discount code, its hesseln1188 and it gets you $50 off any trip. Good luck on finding something not ridiculously expensive, and have fun!

Im not too sure, but it may help to include your location into the title, or maybe even have one word that sums you up.
Err, an example may be 'Indian Adventure' assuming you're based in India for example or a single catchy word like 'Venture'. I don't really know, but that might help.

There are several tour operators operating in this space. There are several trekking clubs who specialise in trekking and mountaineering activities. And these are spread all over India.
In Delhi, there is an association which specially caters to adventure tourism. It is " Adventure Tour Operators Association of India". Please visit their website for information : http://www.atoai.org. Hope this will help you.
In Mumbai there are several tour operators providing such services.
Providing accomodation is a part and parcel of their services.
Wish you pleasant memories of your holidays.

Hi there – I wish I knew what bike tour you were taking as I used to do Product Management for another biking company and we worked with many of the same suppliers as REI.
If you are doing one of the tours in Czech Republic – they are fantastic!
In general, REI has a great reputation and their tours cost more because they provide more bells and whistles. I don't think you will be disappointed.
All of their tours are guided – but not everyone wants a guided tour. You can also do several of the tours self guided which means you are armed with route notes, maps, and have all accommodations and bikes booked for you. You just have more flexibility this way and aren't traveling with a bunch of other people.
Here are some links for overseas suppliers who are excellent at what they offer:

Also, check out http://www.eeitravel.com/site/home_walkingbiking.asp?Group=europe*&iDept=336&iRegion=7&iProductType=34
Don't get me wrong! I used to work for REI – although not in their travel division. They are an awesome company with very high standards, great employees. If you go with them I doubt you will be disappointed.
Have a great trip! I think cycling is one of the best ways to explore the countryside!
